John Cena’s Ricky Stanicky is a comedy movie. The film revolves around three best friends who create an elaborate lie about an imaginary friend named Stanicky. They use Stanicky as an excuse for their mischievous antics over many years. A friend who never exists and they lie from hundreds and hundreds over many many years. They sustain this fabrication for countless years, deceiving their families with tales of Stanicky’s existence.
When their families start asking about Stanicky, Zac Efron’s character suggests hiring an actor (played by John Cena) to portray him.
Introducing Stanicky to their boss, Ted, the friends are surprised by Stanicky’s witty remark, “Digging the suit, and seedlings, man,” which impresses Ted, leading to Stanicky’s employment.
As tensions rise, the friends decide to rid themselves of Stanicky, but the actor portraying him refuses, stating, “My previous job sucked, and I had no friends.” Things take an unexpected turn when the actor becomes too attached to the role. The situation becomes increasingly humorous as the friends try to get rid of Stanicky. The film is a perfect blend of funny incidents and witty dialogues.
